Entry test was never the part of merit determination. When 50 marks in entry test was made qualifying score, more than 20 percent seats in Bachelors and more than 66 percent seats in Masters’ program left vacant.

Therefore, the score in entry test was dropped to 40 marks. The decision was made unanimously by admission committee across the board to avoid any complications and to accommodate maximum number of students.

It is to add that no list with 50 marks in entry test was ever displayed by varsity and the lowering of the score of entry test was to fill the vacant seats to facilitate students.
