ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice on Tuesday would be given a briefing by Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding overall performance of the bureau.

The committee meeting to be chaired by Senator Javed Abbasi will be briefed about the details of the number and details of cases taken cognizance of along with the number and details of cases wherein references were filed during the last three years and status of the said references.

The committee will be provided details of pending cases along with their current status and reasons of pendency.

The committee will be provided details of reforms introduced for improved working of the bureau and the way forward.

The committee will consider constitutional amendment bill for amending Article 51 moved by Senator Col (Retd) Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi.

The committee will also consider "The Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill, 2017 introduced by Minister for Law and Justice last year.

Secretary Law and Justice will brief the committee on status of Access to Justice Development Fund along with balance sheet and its utilization.
