Pakistan leg spinner Yasir Shah made an impression on debut in Australia at the Big Bash League (BBL).

The Pakistani, who replaced fellow leggie Shadab Khan at the BBL, claimed two wickets for the Brisbane Heat against the Adelaide Strikers.

The Strikers skipper Travis Head was the first to fell victim to Shah, after he failed to read a top spin by the leggie and was bowled on 13 as he went for the slog sweep.

South Africa’s Colin Ingram was the second to perish to Shah on 23, after he was out caught by Gannon by a flat leg-break from the Pakistani bowler. Yasir finished with impressive figures of 2 for 18 in his spell of 4-overs.

Earlier, Shadab left for New Zealand to serve his national team and Yasir has been named his replacement. Heat’s leg spinner Mitchell Swepson presented Shah with Cap no. 51.
