This was stated by the Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair, here on Friday. He was presiding over a meeting that reviewed the development projects of Hyderabad.

Governor Zubair said the university would cater to the modern-day academic needs of the youngsters of historic city of Hyderabad who would get the opportunities for higher education and research.

He said for the Rs. five billion package announced by the Prime Minister for Hyderabad, the development projects are being prepared in consultation with the stakeholders.

The officials concerned also gave a detailed briefing on the occasion.

The Sindh Governor said that the development projects would have to be accorded priority in accordance with Hyderabad's 2007 master plan. The development projects would help overcome the problems of the people of Hyderabad.

He said that the government has embarked on the plan for uniform development across the country.

Zubair pointed out that development projects worth Rs. 75 billion have been initiated for Karachi.

He said that the government's priority is higher education and research.
