Public holiday on Dec 27 for Benazir's 10th death anniversary
To mark a decade to the death of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Sindh government has announced a public holiday across the province on December 27.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has approved the summary of the holiday forwarded by Sindh government's department of services general administration and coordination.
As per the notification released by the provincial government, all offices, autonomous or semi-autonomous, working under the Sindh government will remain closed tomorrow.
PPP will also hold Quran Khawani at Garhi Khuda Bukhsh for the departed soul. A public meeting in front of Mausoleum of Bhutto Family will also be addressed by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and central leaders, local media reported.
Benazir was assassinated on December 27, 2007 outside Liaquat Park Rawalpindi, while leaving after addressing a public rally.
