Pak, Afghan speakers discuss bilateral relations
ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Speaker of Wolesi Jirga of Afghanistan Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi Saturday discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.
The speaker of Afghanistan Wolesi Jirga has been arrived here along with six-member delegation to attend the three-day Speakers Conference.
Ayaz Sadiq said Pakistan was enjoying brotherly and cordial relations with Afghanistan and it was in favor of strong, stable and prosperous Afghanistan.
"Pakistan fully believes in the sovereignty and integrity of the neighboring countries," he added.
He said Pakistan and Afghanistan were enjoying strong relations based on common culture and mutual interests.
Terrorism had become a global problem and Pakistan and Afghanistan were most affected by it, he said adding elimination of terrorism was first priority of both countries to achieve development, progress and prosperity.
Afghan speaker congratulated Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for holding the conference of speakers.
“Afghanistan wants to further improve bilateral relations and promote brotherhood,” he added.
He said the conference would provide opportunity to resolve regional issues and devise a strategy to eliminate roots of terrorism. “Terrorism is common issue of all countries” he added.
