US presents new North Korea sanctions resolution, vote expected Friday

UNITED NATIONS: The United States on Thursday presented a draft UN resolution ramping up sanctions on North Korea that is expected to come up for vote at the Security Council on Friday, diplomats said.

The measure would ban nearly 90 percent of refined oil products to North Korea and order the repatriation of all North Korean nationals working abroad within 12 months, according to the text obtained by AFP.
