Massive anti-encroachment operation continues in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Over 35 bungalows and dozens of houses illegally constructed on encroached land along the canals embankments have been demolished during massive anti-encroachment operation which remained continued in Hyderabad since last many days.

The Anti-Encroachment Squad had launched operation at the grabbed land situated along the embankments of Old Phuleli, New Phuleli and Lined Channels, the spokesman of the district administration informed.

The Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Saleem Rajput is personally monitoring the operation which started on the directives of the Water Commission of the Supreme Court, the spokesman informed and added that heavy machinery including bulldozers have been used in demolition of over 35 single double and triple storied illegally constructed bungalows with dozens of houses, shops, cattle sheds and other encroachments.

The district administration has been succeeded to reclaim the land right from Mirza Railway Crossing Ghafoor Shah Colony to Shaheed Benazir Flyover Hala Naka. The heavy contingent of Special Police Force also present during the operation and foiled the attempts of resistance from land grabbers.

The Deputy Commissioner has asked the land encroachers to vacate the grabbed land voluntarily in order to avoid losses during demolition of illegal constructions.
