Indian politician calls Virat Kohli unpatriotic over his wedding
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the epitome of modern age cricketer, as the batting maestro continues to pile up records and has led his side to the top. However, that still does not apparently make him patriotic towards his country as a lawmaker from India’s ruling extremist BJP party, Panna Lal Shakya, questioned the Kohli's patriotism for preferring Italy over India to get married to Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma. “Virat earned money in India...But he didn’t find any place to marry in the country. Is Hindustan untouchable?” said the BJP’s Member of Legislative Assembly, quoted The Hindu. “You all must have gotten married here. None of us goes to a foreign country to get married ... [Kohli] earned money here and spent billions there [Italy]... [he] doesn’t have any respect for the country. This proves he is not a patriot,” he added. The Indian skipper married his girlfriend Sharma in a private ceremony in Italy last week.
