A division bench was hearing a plea filed by Pasha’s wife informing the court that her spouse was taken into custody by the law enforcers from the limits of New Town police station on December 15 when he was on his way back to home from MQM-P head office in Bahadurabad.

The woman petitioner said that Pasha was arrested along with his driver who was released later but her husband was still in the custody.  Citing DG provincial chiefs of Rangers and police, home secretary and SHO New Town police station as respondents, she prayed the court to direct the respondents to release Pasha forthwith.

After the initial hearing, the court issued notices to deputy attorney general, advocate general Sindh and respondents, directing them to file their respective comments by the next hearing.
