Number one Hasan Ali joins new franchise
It looks like 2017 is the year for Pakistan’s superstar pacer Hasan Ali, as after reaching one achievement after another, Hong Kong Island United (HKI United) have now signed the world number one pacer for next year’s tournament.
Announcing the signing via Twitter, the franchise wrote, “We are proud to announce that the world's number one limited overs bowler is joining Hong Kong Island United! He is officially a part of the United Family now. Welcome to HKI United [Hasan]!”

Commenting on the singing of Hasan, the owner of both Islamabad United and HKI United, Amna T Naqvi said, “Hasan is an exciting prospect but he isn’t the only big name we are bringing in this year. Hong Kong Island United has a lot more to offer and you will find out soon why I say that.”

On the other hand, Ali Naqvi, Amna's husband, said, “Our aim is to keep bringing in names that can help local talent develop. Last year we went for experience, this year we have gone for the youthful exuberance of Hasan. He can bring a new flavour to Hong Kong.”
