Fast bowler Mohammad Asif has called himself Pakistan’s best bowler with the ‘new ball.’

"I still remain the best new ball bowler in Pakistan cricket. I have been praised for my bowling skills by the best in cricket. I know the art of using the new ball," stated Asif, quoted NDTV.

Asif was one of the best fast bowlers of the modern generation, but his career took a severe hit, after he was convicted for a spot fixing scandal in 2010. Asif alongside then skipper Salman Butt and Mohammad Amir served five years ban.

However, the fast bowler has proved himself that he could still make the ball sing. Earlier, he picked up seven wickets for WAPDA against Khan Research Laboratories at the recently concluded Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

Asif came on top against the world's best batsmen including Kevin Pietersen, Virender Sehwag, Andrew Strauss, Jacques Kallis. He claimed 106 wickets in only 23 Tests.
