In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the PPP Chairman pointed out that it was a deliberate negligence of the PML-N government not to tackle the issue of piling up surplus sugar stock in country go-downs, which has eventually generated uncertainty and unrest among the sugarcane growers.

Bilawal emphasized that Sindh government should continue taking the growers community along with their mainstream representative organizations into confidence over the issues cropping up due to inaction on the part of Federal government.

The PPP chairman also expressed concern over agriculture economy, saying that it was booming when his party was in power in the federation but the progress has been dragged into minus by the PML-N government.

He asked Sindh government to stay alert from political opponents impersonating as growers to exploit situation for their political mileage.

Bilawal asked home minister Sohail Anwar Sial to prepare a comprehensive report about the incident occurred at Boat Basin area on Monday.
