SINGAPORE: Singapore's retail sales went up 1.5 percent month on month on a seasonally adjusted basis in October, the Department of Statistics of Singapore announced on Tuesday.

Excluding motor vehicles, the retail sales dropped 1 percent month on month in October.

As for year-on-year changes, the retail sales declined 0.1 percent in October, compared to a 0.5 percent decline in September and the retail sales excluding motor vehicles went up 0.8 percent as against 3.3 percent seen in the previous month.

According to the department, the total retail sales value in October was estimated at 3.6 billion Singapore dollars (about 2.66 billion US dollars).

Meanwhile, the sales of food and beverage services decreased 0.1 percent month on month in October and rose 0.7 percent year on year. The sales value was estimated at 722 million Singapore dollars (about 534.25 million US dollars).
