NAB issues annual performance report
LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore on Thursday issued its annual performance report (2017).
According to NAB spokesman, the NAB Lahore disposed of 5,780 complaints during the year 2017 whereas 241 complaints verifications conducted. The NAB conducted 200 inquires and 103 investigations conducted.
The NAB Lahore filed 55 references and decided 25 references during the same period. The NAB Lahore issued 396 arrest warrants while executed 170 arrest warrants.
Rs 2500 million received by NAB Lahore under voluntary return-plea bargain whereas Rs 47 million recovered through voluntary return and Rs 509 million recovered through plea bargain.
Active awareness campaign remained in field through lectures, seminars, walks, talk shows by involving civil society and bureaucracy and also through active participation of young generation in declamation, painting, poetry, singing and essay writing competitions arranged by NAB Lahore during whole year.
20,000-plus character building societies (CBS) in all districts of Punjab involving more than 200,000 students have been established by NAB Lahore.
The scope of prevention operations were enhanced to bring greater transparency in governance and to reduce the incidences of corruption by involving different government departments in prevention committees. NAB Lahore has established 6x prevention committees.
