Pakistan's Liquid Foreign Reserves Position

KARACHI: The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 18,744.9 million on 30 November 2017.

KARACHI: The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 18,744.9 million on 30 November 2017.

This was announced by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) here on Thursday.

It said that the break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:

i) Foreign reserves held by the SBP: US$ 12,660.5 million

ii) Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks : US$ 6,084.4 million

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves : US$ 18,744.9 million

During the week ending 30 November 2017, SBP's reserves decreased by US$ 887 million to US$ 12,660.5 million, due to external debt and other official payments.

Furthermore, SBP has received US$2,500.0 million on 05 December 2017 as proceeds from Pakistan Sovereign bonds and Pakistan International Sukuk, after which SBP's reserves stood at US $ 14,883.1 million and liquid foreign reserves at $ 20,986.4 million.
