More international players to visit Pakistan next year
The ailing sports of hockey is bound to get another boost after it was learnt that the Hockey World XI would be visiting the country in January 2018.
As per reports, the Hockey World XI will feature the likes of big hitters such as Floris Jan Bovelander and Karsten Fischer.
The first match would be played in Karachi on 12 January, while the second match would be played in Lahore on January 14.
Earlier, it was learnt that the International Hockey Federation (FIH) is working with the sports bodies of both Pakistan and India, to ensure Pakistan’s participation in the next year’s World Cup to be held in India from November 28 to December 16.
“Absolutely [we are in talks with Pakistan],” said FIH CEO Jason McCracken, quoted Press Trust of India.
“Pakistan have qualified and we are super happy and delighted for them. It is a fantastic rivalry between India and Pakistan. We have to make sure that Pakistan get their visas on time,” he added.
