Road show in UK next month to promote country's soft image

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair Thursday said that he would participate in road show in Britain next month to help foster the soft image of Pakistan.

He was talking to the members of the Karachi Editors Club who called on him at the Governor's House here.

The Governor pointed out that during the recent visit to the United States, efforts were made to promote the correct image of the country at the international level.

This, he added, helped towards restoring the confidence of the American investors who started taking interest for investment in Pakistan.

Zubair stated that after the restoration of law and order, there has been improvement in the foreign investment in the country.

He said that Pakistan of today is different from that of the 2013 and the country is heading towards the path of development and prosperity.

Governor pointed out that only yesterday the Prime Minister inaugurated the energy project of two billion dollars.

He informed that with the assistance of the federal government the mega projects in Karachi like Greenline bus, K-IV bulk water supply scheme, Lyari Expressway etc are being implemented at estimated cost of Rs 50 billion. There is also a Karachi Development Package of Rs 25 billion.

Zubair said that development projects are also being carried out in Thar. There would be two power plants of 4.5 billion dollars. A 250-bed hospital would also be constructed there.

The president of Karachi Editors Club, Mubasshir Mir, said that a think tank consisting of senior journalists has been formed.
