Analyst trims EU soft wheat output forecast

Published Updated

French analyst Strategie Grains on Thursday reduced its forecast for the European Union's 2011 soft wheat crop by 900,000 tonnes to 135.6 million tonnes, still 6 percent up on the 127.4 million tonnes harvested last season. The reduction concerned the Western part of the 27-member bloc plus Greece, and partly stemmed from a revision in official estimates in several countries, it said.
