ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Petroleum Jam Kamal Khan Monday assured Senate that the shortage of natural gas in Kalat Division and adjoining areas of Balochistan would be overcome by December this year.

Responding to point of public importance raised by Senator Mir Kabeer Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, he said a 34 km long main gas pipeline connecting Shikarpur, Quetta, Kalat Division and other areas would be completed by December 2017.

Meanwhile, responding to another point of public importance, raised by Senator Col (R) Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi, State Minister for Interior Muhammad Talal Chaudhary said tomato shortage was due to bad crop of tomato in Badin, Sindh.

He said vegetables were also being imported from Turkey and the Netherlands.

Market committees, Capital Development Authority and Municipal Corporation were vigilant and notifying price lists regularly.
