Sindh University adopts HEC's Plagiarism Policy

According to a press release, the meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat while members of the syndicate attended. The meeting passed a resolution to implement the Plagiarism Policy of HEC in letter and spirit.

The syndicate under section 3 of Protection of Women Against Harassment at Workplace Act, 2010, constituted a 3 member inquiry committee. The committee, comprising Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Nagina Parveen, SU's Registrar Sajid Qayoom Memon and Director STAGS

Dr Sumera Umrani, would probe the recent harassment cases in which some teachers were implicated. The syndicate through a resolution also adopted the HEC's Policy Guidelines against Sexual Harassment in Institutions of Higher Learning.

The syndicate authorized the VC to constitute the 10-member Hearing Panel in that regard.

The syndicate also endorsed the VC's decision for allowing burial of renowned scholar and writer Muhammad Ibrahim Joyo near the mausoleum of Allama I.I. Kazi in the SU's premises.
