Sony Corporation has introduced a new prototype of its car SC-1 that is outfitted with numerous luxury features aimed to provide an innovative mobile experience.

The car can run autonomously or can also be driven by people. SC-1 contains such image sensors that go beyond the human visual abilities and are located at the front, back, right and left of the vehicle so that when people drive, they can view and focus in 360 degrees direction. The extremely high sensitivity characteristics of the image sensors and the high resolution display installed inside let the passengers view even without headlights at night time.

“Since the image sensor captures the surroundings, the window becomes unnecessary, and by placing a high-definition display in that area instead, you can display various images to people around the vehicle,” wrote Sony.

According to the company, their ‘mixed reality’ technology can transform the car window that was only used for viewing scenery into an entertainment space in order to make the movement more enjoyable.

Through examining the image provided by the image sensors with the help of AI, the user can alter the data transmitted too. This feature will help judging traits of people around the vehicle such as gender, age and more. The car also has AI feature, 5G connectivity, alternative fuels, ultrasonic sensors and 2D rider.

The car contains a riding capacity of three people with 0-19 km/h running speed. It contains a 49-inch 4K LCD monitor inside the car and four 55-inch 4K LCD monitors outside the car.

As per the company, it has already been touring SC-1 around the Okinawa Science and Technology Graduate University College in Japan since September, reported Engadget.
