US rice lower

US rice futures closed mostly lower on Tuesday on pressure from a strong dollar and falling equities. Good US rice crop weather also weighs. CBOT July down 45 cents per cwt at $11.62. USDA said 68 percent of the US rice crop was rated good to excellent, up from 64 percent a week earlier. USDA said the crop was 95 percent planted, up from 90 percent a week earlier and ahead of the five-year average of 91 percent.
