Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed, the Colonel Commandant, visited the Sindh Regimental Centre in Hyderabad on Friday. This was announced in a press release of the ISPR issued here on Friday.
It said that speaking to the officers and soldiers, the Colonel Commandant appreciated the performance of the Sindh Regiment and said that within a short span of time the Regiment has set very high standards of professional excellence for which they should rightfully be proud of.
Gallantry awards obtained by the regiment with less than 30 years of age are clear reflection of its excellent performance during peace and war. He further added that Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, who sacrificed his life on a courageous act of valour, belonged to the Sindh Regiment.
Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed visited the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and laid the floral wreath and offered Fateha. He also visited Captain Karnal Sher Khan, Nishan-e-Haider Youth Hostel, established for the children of Shuhada of the Sindh Regiment. He also visited Army Public School Sindh Regiment Centre and planted a tree to start tree plantation campaign in the centre. Special Durbar was also held in the Centre.
The Colonel Commandant, while addressing the Durbar said that the officers, JCOs and soldiers of Sindh Regiment have shown great valour and sacrificed their precious lives for the defence of the motherland during ongoing military operations against terrorism. He praised the high standards of training being imparted in the Centre. It is worth mentioning that Sindh Regimental Centre has been securing first position in all Infantry Training Centres for the last three years.
He also appreciated the result obtained by the Centre during evaluation conducted by GHQ team and said these results show the continuity of your excellent performance for which you deserve congratulations. The Colonel Commandant added that we should remain ready and acquire maximum professional competence to maintain the golden customs of Sindh Regiment.
