The idea of holding an image-building public meeting of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) at the Mochi Gate has been dropped once and for all, said the party sources. Talking to Business Recorder, the party sources said chances of holding the public meeting after Muharram are bleak.
They added that the whole party would now be engaged with organising events to pay tributes to the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who was killed in a terrorist attack on December 27, 2007.
It may be noted that the PPP Punjab was determined to hold a public meeting to restore the image of party leadership on December 13 at the Mochi Gate in line with the Sindhi Cap Day in Karachi. The PPP Punjab had planned a number of activities ahead of the public meeting, including a peace march and democratic motorcycle rally.
