The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2,412.4 points in moderately expanded volume, extending a 0.1 percent rise on Monday. Oil giants PetroChina closed up 0.51 percent and Sinopec gained 1.24 percent, while top coal makers, China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd and China Coal Energy Co Ltd gained 1.32 and 2.13 percent, respectively.
