National Assembly member from Buner Abdul Matin Khan died of cardiac arrest on Thursday. He was 64. According to details, Abdul Matin, who felt pain in his chest, was immediately rushed to Federal Government Services Hospital (Polyclinic) where he was pronounced dead.
Abdul Matin Khan was born in Buner in 1944 and graduated from Jehanzeb College, Saidu Sharif, Swat, in 1967. He completed his masters in history from Punjab University in 1969.
He joined Awami National Party (ANP) in 1989. He applied for the party ticket in 1990, but the ticket of his constituency went to IJI as the ANP was the part of Combined Opposition. Instead, Khan contested the election as an independent candidate and won the elections for National Assembly seat.
