Inter-district gang busted

CIA Police Modal Town division have busted an inter-district gang involved in a number of incidents of dacoity, robbery, burglary and vehicle snatching and arrested its 13 members and seized looted property worth rupees nine million as well as illegal weapons from them.
The accuseds have confessed to 51 such incidents during preliminary interrogation in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujrat districts. This was disclosed by SSP Investigation Zulfiqar Hameed while addressing a press conference, here on Wednesday. He further said that Capital City Police Officer, Muhammad Pervez Rathore gave special task to DIG Investigation, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera for curbing the incidents of dacoity, robbery, burglary and vehicle snatching.
DIG Investigation, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera constituted a special team under the supervision of SP CIA Muhammad Umer Virk comprising Incharge CIA Modal Town, Inspector Fiaz Ahmed and other police officials. This team collected the particulars of Yasir dacoit gang and nabbed its 13 members on a tip-off.
The criminals have not disclosed their living places just they made contact by phone. The criminals have committed number of house robberies in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujrat. These criminals have been involved in kidnapping for ransom, dacoity, motorcycle snatching and lifting cases.
The felons used to hire cars and motorcycles on rent and used to enter into the house and looted cash and valuables at gunpoint and tortured the hostages during crime on resistance. Similarly, the felons snatched motorcycles from the persons who were carrying their children to schools and lifted motorcycles parked at different parking of public places with master key and sold them at cheaper prices.
The criminals are history-sheeters and as many as 25 cases have also been traced against them in Shalimar, Nishter Colony, Race Course, Kot Lakhpat, Green Town, Icchra, Iqbal Town, Sattokatla, Liaqtabad, Naulakha, Iqbal Town, Wahdat Colony and Nawankot police stations.
The police have recovered Rs 3900,000 in cash, 45 tolas of gold ornaments, 15 motorcycles, 30 cell phones, two cameras, seven precious watches, two TV, 12 pistols, four revolvers, one carbine, one wireless set official, one dagger and 100 bullets from their possession.
The arrested were identified as ringleader Muhammad Yasir, Muhammad Usman, Muhammad Imran, Babar Masih, Malik Rashid alias Rasho, Muhammad Shabir, Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Tariq alias Tari, Muhammad Ijaz, Zahid Hussain, Muhammad Haroon, Mudasir Ahmed and Rana Pervez. Further investigation is in progress. Capital City Police Officer, Muhammad Pervez Rathore has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police raiding team.
