Smuggled Afghani vehicles: check post to be set up for legalisation
Balochistan minister for excise and taxation, Rustam Jamali has said that the government would set up check post aimed at legalising the Afghani smuggled vehicles at Pak-Afghan Chaman border town. Talking to reporters here Sunday, he said the legalising of vehicles aimed at generating revenue for the government in the province.
He warned the excise and taxation officials not to indulge themselves in making registration process of illegal vehicles. If any official is found in indulging in practice of registering illegal vehicles then strict disciplinary action will be taken against him. He said that there were 80,000 illegal Afghani vehicles plying in the provincial capital and its surrounding areas. The IGP Balochistan will soon provide sufficient number of personnel for taking action against illegal vehicles and making registration of these vehicles in collaboration with excise department in the province, he added.
He said the excise department was taking steps for registering vehicles and collecting tax in Zhob, Turbat, Loralai and Gwadar.
