A tough fight is expected among foremost departmental teams when National Football Challenge Cup (NFCC) 2008 will get underway at Karachi's Peoples Sports Complex and City District Government Karachi (CDGK) Stadium simultaneously on Thursday (1st May).
Four matches are on the card for first day. National Champions Pakistan Wapda will take on SSGC while other ties will be KRL v PAF, Navy v PEL and NBP v PTV. Mauripur Road's Peoples Complex in Lyari Town will host 18 matches including two-quarter finals, both semi-finals and final. The 14 matches, including two quarter-finals, of 32-match show will be arranged at CDGK Stadium (formerly KMC Stadium), Sheldon Road in Saddar Town.
The representative of Pakistan in this year's AFC President Cup, Pakistan Wapda will be hot favourites in the event that has been revitalised after 2005.
