Business Software Alliance (BSA) here on Wednesday announced that Legal Software Promotion campaign will be launched all over the country from today, to support the country's software industry and economy by scaling down piracy rate.
"Software piracy reduction benefits everyone as the workers get new jobs, consumers have more choices, entrepreneurs freely market their creativity and governments earn increased tax revenues", said BSA Spokesman for East Mediterranean and Pakistan Committee, Aly Harakeh addressing a press conference.
Aly said BSA, a group of world's leading software companies, would raise public awareness during the 45-day long nation-wide campaign from April 17 to June 1, 2008. Businesses trying to determine whether their organisation is using unlicensed software can download the free information from the website www.bsa.org or call the toll free hotline installed in Karachi at (021) 4558709 and (021) 4558710), he said. The BSA members companies would also give special discounts during the campaign period.
