Sindh Chief Minister, former Justice Abdul Qadir Halepota, has taken strict notice of the attempts to create artificial crisis of atta in the province. A statement issued here on Sunday said that the government is well aware of the problems of the people and steps would be taken to resolve these.
The chief minister said that stern action would be taken against those elements who create shortage of atta by hoarding the commodity.
He stated that these steps would also be aimed at ensuring supply of atta at reasonable prices. Meanwhile, a high level meeting has been convened at the chief minister House here on Monday, which will review the situation arising out of the artificial crisis of atta.
A strategy would also be chalked out for stern action against those elements involved in creation of this artificial crisis. The statement further said that the chief minister informed the Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammadmian Soomro over phone regarding the dispute arisen between sugarcane growers and mill owners over sugarcane price as well as about the artificial crisis of atta.
He requested the Prime Minister to resolve the dispute between the growers and sugar mills owners of Sindh a joint meeting be convened. The Prime Minister assured that he would soon convene a meeting in this respect for the resolution of the dispute.
