The caretaker Prime Minister, Mohammed Mian Soomro will lay the foundation stone of new campus of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), in Faisalabad on Wednesday, December 5. According to a spokesman, the UET Lahore has initiated the expansion and development of the main campus on one hand.
While on the other hand it has initiated building new campuses in other cities of Punjab due to the increasing demand for graduate engineers. The University Town campus being built along Kala Shah Kaku-Lahore bypass is one of the new campuses and the Faisalabad campus started three years ago, he said.
He said while the Rs 514 million-construction work on UET Faisalabad campus built on 209 acres land on Khurianwala-Makuana bypass was underway, classes have been held in hired premises during the last three years.
