ISLAMABAD: Renowned classical, ghazal singer Iqbal Bano was remembered on her 8th death anniversary on Friday.

In this connection, Quran Khawani and collective prayers will be held in the show biz circles for here, where her professional services will be lauded, private news channel reported.

Iqbal Bano began her professional singing career in 1950 from Radio Pakistan.

She sang a large number of famous songs for films including "Payel Mein Geet Hain Ccham Ccham Ke" for film "Qatil".

She also sang ghazals of Allama Iqbal, Mirza Ghalib, Faiz Ahmad Faiz among others.

She was honoured with the Presidential Pride of Performance Award in 1990. She expired in Lahore in 2009, after a short illness.
