Kenyan internet service provider (ISP) AccessKenya said on July 4 that it planned to acquire its rival Todays Online as the country's information sector gains momentum. Most Kenyan internet service providers offer bandwidth but plan to extend services to broadband when the costs reduce.
The country's internet sector is picking up after the government announced plans to build an undersea fibre optic cable linking the port city of Mombasa to United Arab Emirates in a bid to reduce of cost of internet access and international calls.
