Number seven has mystical significance for many societies and is associated with luck in occult science. However, some Chinese associate number seven with ghost and considered unlucky. The seventh month of the Chinese calendar is called "ghost month" and it is believed that the gates of hell open to allow spirits visit the living realms.
Saturday was the seventh day of the seventh month in the seventh year of 2000. Some astronomers say "if we go deep into the significance of digit '7' we notice that there are seven planets we can see with the naked eye, seven days in a week, seven continents, seven seas, seven deadly sins and seven virtues. There are also seven musical scale, seven colours in the rainbow and seven smells.
Biblically, the seven was also powerful referring to God's first week, the levels of heaven and the number of angels and trumpets. "Seven has always been associated with things spiritual, mystical and related to nature," say numerologists".
Some people consider it a perfect date for wedding. More weddings were held Saturday than on any day in recent history, experts said. Catholics celebrate seven sacraments and seven virtues. Buddha was said to have walked seven steps at birth.
In Islamic tradition, seven symbolises infinity. Seven stages of heaven, seven layers of sky, seven rounds of kaba during Hajj seven times travel between Safa and Marwa and seven times stoning of the Satan. "The significance of seven connects to metaphysical themes," said an astrologer.
