Vice Chancellor of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Bhoneke Campus Pattoki Dr Nawaz Ahmad has said that each department of University would be converted into the center of excellence in the field of most modern research based scientific education for becoming self-reliant in live-stock, fisheries and dairy products.
So that the reasonable amount of foreign exchange could be earned in lieu of exporting all such items to the other nations. These views were expressed by him while talking to newsmen here today. He averred that all the buildings being under construction had been divided into four blocks to cover total area expending up to 811 acres of land at the cost of Rs 2230 million within five years.
Bifurcating the expenditures on construction he told that the construction of animal house would involve the cost of Rs 6.50 million, animal production and technology faculty Rs 13.93 million, while within the coming three years the training and research center in bio-technology would be constructed at the cost of Rs 407.78 million. He said that the construction of training center in the field of wildlife and aqua system is about to be completed shortly.
He stated that during the recent visit, Governor Punjab Lieutenant General (Retd) Khalid Maqbool had ordered to construct three-storey building of the university instead of the planned two-storey construction.
