Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that there was no danger of Kamber and Shahdadkot towns submerging in flood water as it is 12 kilometers away from these towns.
Talking with mediamen at Moen-jo-Daro Airport on Thursday the Chief Minister further said that there was traditionally flow of flood water from Balochistan province into Sindh, which would be diverted into Hamal Lake and after falling Manchar lake its natural discharge will be river Indus.
Replying to a question, the Chief Minister said that he would suggest Federal Government to prepare strategy for rehabilitation of flood hit people and to build homes for the victims. He said that a comprehensive planning to face flood water in future will be prepared.
He observed that there was no shortage of funds and after the survey work federal government would be approached in this regard. Arbab Ghulam Rahim said that relief and rescue operation is continue and relief/ edible goods are being supplied/ provided by boats, roads and helicopter services properly and relief workers were engaged and performing their task accordingly.
He informed that floodwater spreading 70 kilometers in length and 25 kilometers in width and its height is from 3 up to 4 feet. He assured the families of flood victims that government is aware regarding their difficulties and hardships and properly efforts were being made to rehabilitate them without any kind of discrimination.
Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim who is also President of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Sindh received the President PML (Q) Chaudhry Shuhjat Hussian, Secretary General Senator Mushahid Hussain, Syed, Manzoor Hussain Watoo at Moen-jo-Daro Airport.
On the occasion Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed talking to mediamen observed that Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim is brave man and he has always took bold steps in the interest of sovereignty, prosperity and unity of the nation.
Later, the Chief Minister paid a surprise visit to Larkana City and met with people, he directed the concerned officials to start functioning of Larkana Development Authority (LDA) to accelerate the pace of development work of Larkana. He directed TMA Larkana to ensure cleanliness of the city and to solve the problems and difficulties of the people without any delay.
