Maulana Aziz sent to Adiala Jail

The Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) on Thursday sent Maulana Abdul Aziz, Khateeb of Lal Masjid, on seven-day physical remand and his daughter to Adiala Jail in judicial remand. Maulana Abdul Aziz and his daughter Tayyaba Dua alias Amna Abdullah were presented before Rawalpindi Division and Federal Capital ATC Judge Sakhi Muhammad Kahut.
Margalla Police Station SHO Inspector Naeem submitted before the court that an FIR under sections 7/H, 7/E and 21/J of the Anti-Terrorist Act and sections 365, 109, 452, 353, 148 and 149 of the penal code was filed in the Margalla Police Station against the Maulana and many others.
The prosecution pleaded before the court that the Maulana and his daughter should be handed over to police on a ten-day physical remand to investigate the matter of the kidnapping of Chinese citizens.
The court after hearing the charges awarded seven-day physical remand to Maulana Aziz and his daughter to Adiala Jail in judicial remand. The court fixed July 12 as next date of hearing. Earlier, Maulana Abdul Aziz and his daughter were brought to the court under heavy security.
Commandos escorting the Maulana, beat media person in the court premises when they were trying to make footage and photographs of the detained Maulana and his daughter. Photographer of an Urdu daily was severely beaten by commandos and he received serious injuries.
