The city district government Rawalpindi has established flood emergency centres to cope with any crisis situation during the monsoon season. Three centres, including a control room in District Revenue Office have been established in Rawalpindi.
These centres are already operational and working under the supervision of control room, sources in the district government said. The flood emergency centres have been established at Islamia High School Liaquat Bagh, Government Boys School Ratta Amral and Government Boys School Gowalmandi. The centres have been equipped with all medical facilities, food and other basic necessities for the flood-affected people.
Besides, the authorities in Wasa have been directed to remain alert and make ready its de-watering sets to drain out water from lower areas of the city, the sources added. Meanwhile, city district nazim, Raja Javed Ikhlas said that the district administration had made all necessary arrangements to drain out water from the city.
