The office bearers of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry while expressing deep concern over broad daylight dacoity wherein Rs 1.9 million of Izhar Group of Companies were looted by four unidentified persons, have demanded of the government to take immediate measures to arrest the culprits.
LCCI President Shahid Hassan Sheikh, Senior Vice President Yaqoob Tahir Izhar and Vice President Mubasher Sheikh, in a joint statement said that at a time when the government was striving for attracting foreign investment and encouraging local investment, the deteriorating law and order situation is putting a reverse gear to its efforts.
They said that the business community plays an important role in running the affairs of the country and the government should take special steps to protect the businessmen from any such incidents. They also demanded of the authorities to identify crime-prone areas and make special arrangements for the safety of businesses in these areas.
