Lawyers took their daily protests to the 98th day on Tuesday with their hour-long boycott of courts, from 10:30 am to 11:30am, and token hunger strikes, protesting against the suspension of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
Three hunger strike camps were set up at district courts. A large number of political workers visited their camps to express solidarity with them. Lawyers also condemned the government for the house arrest of nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan for the past 1,226 days and demanded his immediate release.
