Qazi condemns Lal Masjid operation

Chief of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), Qazi Hussain Ahmed has vehemently condemned the operation launched by law enforcement agencies against Lal-Mosque and Jamia Hafsa in Islamabad and said that it was a part of the government's ill-conceived policies.
Addressing a gathering at Muzaffargarh on Tuesday Qazi said, he had received a news that operation against the Jamia Hafsa had begun, which might lead to anarchy in the country.
He said the Jamia Hafsa management was demanding elimination of centers of evils. A number of massage centers were running in Islamabad where women were engaged to massage men and male massage women. Similarly, dens of obscenity were also working in the capital. He said the demands of Jamia Hafsa were genuine, for which the government should have adopted the way of negotiations instead of launching operation.
Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, leader of the opposition also condemned the operation against the Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa describing it an abortive attempt to suppress the voice against obscenity, vulgarity and indecency. Earlier, Caravan for integrity and solidarity of Pakistan left for Dera Ghazi Khan from Multan on Tuesday.
