A Rs 103,73.418 million surplus budget of the Malir Development Authority (MDA) was unanimously approved for the 2007-08 fiscal year. The budget meeting, with City Nazim and MDA Chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal in chair, was held here on Tuesday.
Total income has been estimated at Rs 10373.4 million, while expenditure stands at Rs 9810.008 million, including an estimated sum of Rs 196.858 million for non-development spending and Rs 9613.150 million for the development ones.
Yearly instalments of 93,000 alottees of New Malir Housing Scheme and Taiser Town Scheme-45 were set as the main source of income, besides an expected rupees two billion from the auction of plots. The areas for uplift spending would be infrastructure, water and sewerage systems, roads, storm water drainage and other work in both these schemes in the new financial year.-PR
