Prominent artist and social worker Jimmy Engineer has reiterated that he has dedicated his life for the welfare of the special children and is committed to do everything possible for bringing smiles on their faces momentarily as well as permanently.
Talking to a group of journalists after his arrival here on another goodwill tour from Karachi, Jimmy Engineer said that mentally-retarded, physically handicapped, deaf, dumb and blind children are very dear and near to his heart irrespective of whether they are in any part of Pakistan or in any other country around the globe.
He said that in order to ameliorate the lot of the special children, bring smiles on their faces and provide them some moments of relief and happiness, he had introduced the concept of organising the awareness, fun and food programmes for the special children.
He said that he had started organising programmes from Karachi about four years back, has extended it to Lahore and is determined to extend these to other parts of the country in due course of time.
Jimmy Engineer said that he had also organised six such programmes in selected cities of Sri Lanka during his visit to the island country in 2004.
