Central Secretary Finance PML (N) Mohammad Pervaiz Malik, MNA, has said that life and property in Sindh and Balochistan is hardly hit by natural calamity of cyclones but the people have been left at the mercy of nature and despite large scale devastation, no major relief and rescue operation has been launched so far.
While talking to media men here on Monday, he said that Punjab and northern areas are also under threat of storms and flash floods but government had taken no precautionary measures except issuing warning to the DCO. He said the government had been crippled after judicial crisis and is unable to deliver but the rulers are insisting not to quit.
Malik said that the government was ignoring the people of Sindh and Balochistan in a way as the then rulers ignored the people of East Pakistan during natural calamities prior to 1971, which stepped up hated against the centre.
