A national Health Sciences Research Symposium with the theme "Injury in the developing world from prevention to care" is being organised by Aga Khan University in Karachi (AKU). The event is scheduled for October 24 and 25, and will also feature pre- and post- symposium workshops.
The symposium would be of professional interest to practising health professionals as well as to researchers, investigators and students. Speakers have been invited from North America, Europe, India, and the Middle East along with local distinguished local speakers.
The University encourages the sharing of research findings at different sessions of the Symposium, whose goals and objectives are: (a) The promotion of injury prevention and care as an integral part of local and national public health policies and programmes; (b) To share state-of-the-art research and practices in all fields of injury trauma care at national and regional level; (c) To foster partnerships between professionals working in the field of injury prevention and trauma care at local, national and regional levels; (d) To discuss ways to enhance emergency preparedness and disaster management.-PR
