Lawyers' struggle to continue: Kurd

Former Vice-Chairman Pakistan Bar Council and counsel of Chief Justice Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Ali Ahmed Kurd has vowed that even after restoration of the chief justice, lawyers' struggle will continue till the removal of the present government.
While addressing the members of the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) here on Monday, Kurd maintained that struggle of the lawyers has become a movement, which will culminate with the removal of present government. He said lawyers' movement has awakened the people of Pakistan who also joined their struggle.
He said that the lawyers will wage struggle to send the army back to barracks. He added that the lawyers' struggle would decide once for all the role of military and the representatives of people in the politic of Pakistan. They said military generals should understand their position and return to barracks.
He said lawyers would not compromise on principles and judiciary should also improve its image in the eyes of people. He asked the lawyers to forge unity in their ranks to get the goal of independence of judiciary and true democracy in the country.
