Flood from Balochistan has caused 20-25 feet wide breaches in Flood Protective Bund at three different points, 20 kilometres from here. Breaches at RD-170, 180 and 184 have inundated several villages including Katchi Pul, Illahi Bukhs Khoso, Mir Jan Mohammad Khoso, Abdul Karim Khoso, Rind village, Khaskheli village, Dodo Chandio and Isa Pur.
Residents of the affected areas have been shifted to safer areas. No death has been reported yet. Wide spread crop damage and animals loss but not yet quantified. Chief Engineer Sukkar Irrigation, Atta Mohammad Soomro said that steps were being taken to repair the breaches. He said that due to these breaches there has been a decline of one feet water in FP Bund, but the continuous water flow from Balochistan is a cause of serious apprehension.
Soomro said that another breach was reported and that would take the number of breaches to four, however, the forth breach needs verification. He said that he has asked for army's help.
