Consul General of Afghanistan, Abdul Khalik Farahi, has assured traders of removing Afghan Transit Trade (ATT) related hindrances affecting Pak-Afghan economic co-operation. Talking to a delegation led by Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, the other day, he assured that the matter would be taken up with the government of Afghanistan.
The meeting decided to hold another meeting in Afghan Consulate. They said the shifting of the offices of Afghan Trade Commissioner from Peshawar to Torkham border and issuance of trade documents to irrelevant people instead of authorised clearing agents is multiplying their hardships. The Afghan official assured the delegation that he would soon contact Kabul for redressing their grievances and no stone would be left unturned to facilitate bilateral trade between the two sides, said the release.
